Our History
MOEC Pty Ltd was formed in 2016 to meet the changing needs of the Water, Energy and Mining sectors to engage low-cost; fully-compliant contractors that do not compromise on safety and performance. Our objective is to be the leading construction and services contractor in the water, mining, and gas industries.
MOEC is a fully compliant multi-disciplined partner of choice for complex projects within the energy and resources industry.

Our Management Team
James Curran
Founder and Managing Director
James is a forthright entrepreneur and co-founder of MOEC, with 20 years of experience in the construction, mining, and gas sectors. After studying Civil Engineering, he worked as a Project Engineer at leading companies before founding MOEC in 2016 to drive innovation in pipeline construction.
Known for his technical expertise and visionary leadership, James is committed to creating positive change. He proudly embraces his Indigenous heritage, which deeply informs both his personal and professional life.
Ryan Moloney
Co-Founder and Project Manager
Ryan is a seasoned Civil Engineer and Project Manager with over 20 years of experience across the construction, resource, and gas sectors.
At 26, Ryan was managing teams of 60+ and overseeing complex Infrastructure projects.
In 2016, he co-founded MOEC after leading major projects for clients such as Rio Tinto, QGC, and BHP.
Ryan is known for his strategic leadership and hands-on approach. Ryan thrives in both large-scale and niche environments. Outside of work, he’s a proud father of three and an active community volunteer and soccer coach.
